Have you always been involved in fitness or exercise?
Yes! But, had never stepped into a gym before PowerCamp.
What have you done previously?
I’ve always been active throughout my life – swimming, running, soccer, surfing, touch footy, rugby, stand up paddle boarding – mostly team sports.
What brought you to PowerCamp?
Dylan dragged me along.
Did you have a goal when you first started PowerCamp? If yes what were/are they?
My goal was to improve my fitness and strength, to then improve my paddling ability.
Have you reached a goal or have you achieved what you originally set out to do?
I have definitely improved my strength and muscle tone.
Has PowerCamp helped you achieve your goal or move closer to it?
Definitely! PowerCamp has not only helped move me closer to my goal, but also set new goals for fitness.
What would you say to someone thinking of trying PowerCamp?
Don’t say no until you’ve tried it! Sure, it will push you, but the feeling of accomplishment after is so worth it.
Biggest obstacles you have had to overcome on your fitness journey?
Staying committed and motivated. Some days you have to really push yourself to get to the gym or get outside, but knowing your goal is close helps.
Do you have sources if inspiration? If so, what are they?
Before Planet PowerCamp, elite athletes like Sally Fitzgibbons (surfing) and Fiona Wylde (sup surfer/racer) were my inspiration. Now, it’s all the members at PowerCamp who commit to going every day and achieve their goal (special mention to Julie).
